About the Team

Come join our UX team designing the Workday Financials oCFO (Office of the Chief Financial Officer) suite of products! We're the folks designing the tools that finance professionals at major companies use daily – think planning budgets, managing spending, and understanding financial health. It's a complex world, but our job is to make it intuitive and user-friendly through smart design. We're a supportive and collaborative group passionate about tackling these challenges and making a real difference in the world of enterprise finance. We value working together, sharing ideas, and helping each other grow while building products that matter.

About the Role

As a Junior UX Designer on our team, you'll jump right into designing experiences for our financial applications. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and fellow designers to create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for key features within our oCFO products. You won't be expected to know everything on day one; this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your UX skills, learn about the complexities of financial systems, and make a tangible impact by improving the tools that help businesses run smoothly. You'll be part of the entire design process, from understanding the problem to delivering polished solutions.

About You

You're likely in the early stages of your UX career (maybe with an internship or around a year of experience under your belt) and eager to learn and grow. What really matters to us is your attitude: you're naturally curious, love digging into problems, and genuinely enjoy collaborating with others. You see feedback as a gift, aren't afraid to ask questions, and thrive in a team setting where you can both contribute and learn from your peers. You have a good grasp of UX fundamentals, can create clear wireframes and user flows (experience with Figma is great!), and you're excited by the challenge of designing for complex, impactful financial products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Submission of an online portfolio showcasing UX design work (e.g., user flows, wireframes, prototypes).

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a UX design role, which can include internships.

  • Experience using Figma for creating wireframes and prototypes.

Other Qualifications:

  • Preferred: In your application, please include a few sentences in your own words about your career goals and why this position looks interesting to you.

  • A genuine desire to collaborate effectively within a team setting and a strong curiosity to understand diverse perspectives.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers.

  • An interest in financial products or previous experience designing for B2B (business-to-business) or enterprise applications.

  • Familiarity with user research practices and an interest in using data to inform design decisions.

  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • A demonstrated investment in learning and gaining UX skills. E.g. a degree, diploma, or certificate in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience Design, or a related field, or equivalent if you’re a self-taught.

  • A proactive approach to learning, an ability to adapt to new challenges, and a passion for developing your craft as a designer.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage your time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
