Tempus is seeking a highly qualified Senior Manager, Business Analytics and Forecasting to join our growing Sales Operations team. This role will be instrumental in leading the team that will be developing analytically informed strategies, sales forecasting, and business reporting to support strategic planning for our growing oncology and neuropsychiatry sales teams. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a movement to help improve patient care with data and artificial intelligence.
What you’ll do
Lead people and data analytics projects to extract key insights from large data sets and guide sales team focus
Act as a strategic partner to commercial leadership and collaborate with internal teams to incorporate a holistic perspective into assessments and plan execution
Lead the team on:
Forecasting Development and Maintenance:
Utilize advanced analytical techniques to develop and maintain short-term and long-term forecasts, ensuring accuracy and reliability
Automate forecasting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards to communicate forecast results and insights to internal stakeholders
Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously refine models and methodologies to improve performance
Business Reporting:
Use analytical techniques to interpret large data sets, proactively identify insights, and provide actionable steps to drive effective business growth
Identify and track KPIs and metrics to ensure accurate and reliable business reporting
Create and deliver executive-level presentations on key business metrics and opportunity assessments, addressing critical business questions, growth opportunities, and strategic/tactical recommendations
Leverage AI tools to deliver real-time, tailored, analytic insights for the commercial organization
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, etc.)
7+ years of experience in business analytics, forecasting, finance, management consulting, or commercial operations/strategy within the life sciences industry
3+ years of experience in direct people management
Strong data and analytics skills, including fluency in Excel/Google Sheets, Powerpoint SQL, and BI/data visualization tools
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Strategic thinker who is able to zoom out to the big picture of broader business objectives while also understanding the details of execution
Demonstrated experience translating complex analyses into clear and succinct presentations to stakeholders up through the executive level
Proven ability to influence without authority and develop and maintain strong relationships across departments (Sales, marketing, legal, business development, operations, product, etc.)
Self-starter that thrives in a fast-moving environment and is capable of independently seeking information, gathering resources, and delivering results without waiting for direction
Organized and able to effectively balance priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial experience in oncology, with clinician-facing products, and/or within a life sciences organization
Experience in large-scale life sciences data analysis and forecasting methodologies
Experience with life sciences sales, marketing, and medical claims data sets (Definitive, IMS, Symphony, etc.)
Experience with various statistical analysis techniques (e.g., regression, cluster analysis, significance testing, ANOVA)
Salesforce.com experience is a plus
$120,000 - $150,000
The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
