About the Role

Monks is looking for an Associate HR Director for Germany to lead the people function in this region. The HR team is a crucial team and this role sits on the leadership team partnering with business leaders on developing the local people strategy. 

You will be a champion of HR best practice and guidance on the entire employee lifecycle and lead the roll out of people initiatives and projects, either developed by the Global People Strategy team or developed alongside the local leadership team. 

Ideal candidates for this role have extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Germany and leading HR functions & teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing insights on people-related matters.
  • Develop and implement talent management strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Manage succession planning and career development programs.
  • Identify training needs and work with the global talent team to roll out effective training programs
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  • Address and manage all employee relation items including restructuring, employee concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
  • Oversee the performance appraisal process and ensure it aligns with organisational goals.
  • Guide manager on performance improvement plans for underperforming employees and share effective and best practice performance management techniques.
  • Stay updated on local labor laws and regulations and ensure compliance. 
  • Partner and work closely with legal counsel to address any legal concerns or changes in labor laws. 
  • Lead organisational change initiatives.
  • Provide support and guidance during any business changes such as mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
  • Use HR analytics to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Oversee the German HR team and their development. 

 

About You

The essentials:

  • Extensive experience in HR, with a track record of leadership and strategic impact and leading a team. 
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and regulations across multiple countries within the EMEA region.
  • Immigration law/policy experience highly desired.
  • Ability to pivot to shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated track record in leading and executing HR efforts spanning across talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, performance management, diversity and inclusion, employee communications and relations, succession planning, compliance, immigration, training, professional and organisational development.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Familiarity and comfort in environments where growth and change are the constants, pace is fast and a global mindset is required.
  • Proficiency in using technology to leverage HR Programs and experience using data and analytics to measure outcomes, gain insights, make decisions and influence others.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Experience with Workday is strongly preferred
  • Advertising, Marketing, or PR background
