We are searching for an experienced Associate Director of Events to join our growing team. This role partners closely with the Client to support various projects while co-captaining an experienced team of event professionals. The Associate Director will be responsible for the development and execution of B2B events, corporate hospitality initiatives, and product activations. Key responsibilities include budget management, stakeholder collaboration, client interaction, project management, and ownership of designated marketing deliverables. This position necessitates a blend of client-facing and project management expertise.

The Lowdown

  • As an Associate Director of Events at Monks, you’ll partner with one of the world’s leading brands and be the driving force behind a variety of cool projects, taking them from initial spark to flawless execution.  
  • As a team leader, you will be a touchpoint for an incredible group of Event Monks; your approach to client management and production prowess will be core examples for all!

  Who we are looking for 

  • You have experience with managing a team and can zoom-in and out of situations with ease; knowing when to take a holistic approach is key and strategy is always top of mind!
  • You are comfortable working on multiple projects at one time and a flexible thinker who isn’t scared of a challenge.
  • You can plan and coordinate all aspects of events, from conception to completion, with your eyes closed.
  • You have experience developing event programs and content; you translate event logistics, venue selection, vendor management, and event day operations into agendas and presentations with ease.
  • Excellent communicator with highly effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with diverse stakeholders and present information in a manner that is appropriate for the needs of the client(s).
  • You have documented experience managing and planning events and outreach, including developing budgets, publicity and communication strategies, generating reports, tracking data and maintaining databases.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external vendors and takes pride in building positive and lasting relationships.
  • Experience with budgets of 1M+ and maintains organized records and accounting on multiple projects.
  • You are an on-the-ground champion, ensuring seamless event flow and tackling unexpected hiccups with a can-do attitude.  

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate and project manage with multiple cross functional persona such as vendors, partners, internal and external marketing/sales/event teams.
  • Develop and lead creative briefs for experiential outputs to ensure a unique yet cohesive experience and brand presence across all events.
  • Develop promotional strategies for third-party and owned events to maximize event KPIs and drive attendance, registration, and engagement.
  • Align event marketing plans with the broader teams, and plan and optimize for qualified business meetings at events.
  • Cultivate relationships with partners and event organizers for speaking, sponsorship, and promotional opportunities.
  • Ability to apply poise under pressure and use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.Maintains composure under pressure and applies sound judgment when addressing issues and concerns.
  • Ensure all work is accurate, reflects client comments, meets brand standards and is on strategy.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work rapidly and accurately under deadline pressure in an interrupt-driven environment.
  • Solid organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate several projects simultaneously with demanding timeframes.
  • Source and adopt tools to enhance event efficiency and attendee experience.
  • Active team leader who can confidently support the team and flex in and out of projects to provide guidance and support.

Your toolkit 

  • 8-10 years of event management experience, showcasing your passion and ability to bring ideas to life. You’ve got the skills and the drive to make things happen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster optimal department and client relationships.
  • A love for events and a knack for creating memorable experiences. You're not just planning events; you're crafting moments.
  • You have the references and portfolio to back up your experience and provide context for your skills.Your experience is supported by your references and portfolio, which provide impressive context for your skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You’re a master of timelines, checklists, and keeping things on track.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You can easily connect with clients, vendors, and colleagues alike.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. You’re a team player who’s ready for anything.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, with advanced knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel applications, database design (ex. Salesforce) is preferred. 
  • Adept with technology and willing to learn new software applications as needed to support program goals.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 35% of the time for exciting events across the US. Adventure awaits!
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.

Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
