AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE:  Critical technical manager role leading a power engineering team responsible for ensuring customer platform spec meets AMD requirements prior to project kickoff and identify program risk and develop mitigation and contingency plan to ensure smooth program execution. Owns overall debug strategy, coordinate deep debug of issues, develop debug feature emulation test plan and execution. Owns issue resolution strategy, debug issues, works directly with FET leads and members for resolving issues. This individual will interface with the AMD internal hardware development, firmware/BIOS, and systems engineering teams to assist and address issues reported by ODM/OEM customers. This includes training and enabling ecosystem partners with critical knowledge of AMD technologies and platforms, and driving the best practices to reduce time to revenue, and successfully. He or she must be able to quickly analyze different customer scenarios to come up with the best approach to tackle tough problems.    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Lead system/power architecture/solution strategy, work closely with ODM/OEM partners to enable successful deployment of AMD NB/Workstation/desktop platforms power by augmenting customer solutions with technical collateral, such as application note documentation, user guide on customization and tuning , sample and reference design materials, and debugging /profiling tools. Perform platform power section reviews (design, block-level, schematic, layout review and power test report review), bringing up, as well as debugging on internal and external reference and production designs, and provide solutions to customers. Lead other engineers in executing power testing in the lab using scopes, e-loads, DC sources, and other power test equipment. Co-work with architect and designer to deliver and enable the latest power technology to customers. And engage with internal stakeholders and customers for gen-to-gen improvement. Working directly with our customers to ensure their system solutions meet industry best requirements. Engage directly on key technical power topics, issues, architecture discussions, and performance optimizations with customers and internal teams and steer of multi-party discussion to convergence. Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across validation, including platform deployment, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives. Analytic ability to address power related issues and generate creative solutions. Support and training customer to speed up issue closure to meet overall projects schedule. Develops regular status representing the CE technical team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management. Provide issue risk assessments and mitigation plans. Take lead in providing technical explanations for critical issues. Help Customers to resolve system/power related problem. Urgent/Gating, Gray area (Software/Driver/BIOS/ASIC serious), platform specific cand Silicon/Protocol level issues debug. On-site support customer to resolve issues.   PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  Engineering management and technical leadership experience. 10+ Years Power design and working experience of processors focused on NB, DT, Server, and Workstation. Rich knowledge and understanding of Power topology, Analog/Digital IC, Voltage mode and Current mode to support debug and design implementation. Strong technical and power issue solving skills with extensive hands-on experiences on SVI2/3, load transient, Dynamic, LL Trim and Telemetry debug. Familiar with DC-DC power schematics and PCB design, power integrity analysis, performance optimization, and system power architecture. Well understanding of requirements regarding signal integrity/compatibility of power systems and components. Experience of working directly with global customers from enabling to mass production. Good teamwork spirit is required.
