We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer (or Architect) with strong systems thinking, hands-on expertise, and a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and software development lifecycles. This role blends deep technical execution with architectural foresight. You’ll play a critical role in designing and building our cloud-native platform while partnering with engineering leads on system design and enabling best practices across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on Platform Engineering (~70%)
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and AWS services.
  • CI/CD and Developer Enablement
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Mentorship and Technical Leadership (~30%)
  • Mentor junior engineers and peers on infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, observability, and platform reliability.
  • Architectural Collaboration
  • Work closely with software architects and engineering leaders to influence infrastructure-related decisions aligned with product and system architecture.
  • Site Reliability and Observability
  • Improve system reliability and performance through observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic) and apply SRE principles such as error budgets, SLAs/SLOs and incident management.
  • Security and Compliance
  • Design and implement platform security best practices, backup strategies, and infrastructure governance controls to meet compliance and operational standards

    Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles in high-scale, production-critical environments.
  • Deep expertise with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, WAF, IAM etc.) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (preferred) and/or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with modern tooling.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SRE practices, SDLC stages, and incident management processes.
  • Track record of mentoring and uplifting engineers in DevOps/platform practices.
  • Strong team player who thrives in cross-functional collaboration and system-level problem-solving.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
