AMD together we advance_ Server Product Power & Performance Lead THE ROLE: A senior technical leader to drive/lead our cutting-edge EPYC server product power and performance characterization, debug, validation, optimization and customization. Our innovative EPYC architecture revolutionizes both client and server platforms. As a key technical leader in our power and performance team, you will develop core competencies for AMD's server group, contributing to world leading high-performance data processing and computing. THE PERSON: We're seeking a performance-driven professional with expertise in Linux operating systems and a proven track record of optimizing systems across diverse benchmarks. And the candidate is preferred to have broad knowledge in server hardware architecture, feature and power management to drive best perf/watt. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, passionate about learning, and a dedicated technical contributor to SoC Performance. You'll execute and analyze complex workloads, drive performance investigations, characterization, and debug, and influence future server SoC microarchitecture design. RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive AMD platforms to achieve peak performance in compute, I/O, and power efficiency Analyze benchmarks and performance characteristics, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization Develop team understanding of performance-related tools, techniques, and analysis to measure and enhance performance Collaborate closely with the operating system team to discover new techniques for accelerating server-based applications Deep dive into CPU architecture to understand bottlenecks, diagnose bugs, and resolve issues Research trade-offs for server architecture, focusing on memory hierarchy, storage systems, scheduling, and I/O devices Propose changes to memory, storage systems, I/O systems, file systems, and operating system scheduling to reduce power requirements and boost performance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Multiple years of experience in system architecture, performance analysis, technical debug, and validation, with in-depth knowledge of memory technologies Comprehensive understanding of computer architecture/microarchitecture, software, and hardware pertaining to performance engineering Proficient in Linux performance analysis tools and methods Experienced in executing industry-standard benchmarks, performance test workloads, and automated tests for continuous integration Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python) or similar languages Familiarity with IO subsystem architecture, uArch, IO interconnects, and performance analysis and optimization ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: BS or MS in Computer Architecture, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field LOCATION: Santa Clara, CA #LI-LM1 #LI-HYBRID Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
