Position: Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Apply data science and advanced algorithms to enhance search and browse functionalities for Walmart International. Develop train and evaluate machine learning models for recommendation systems and search relevance. Develop system to collect, preprocess and analyze real time click stream data. Collaborate with data scientists to fine-tune models, propose optimizations, and conduct A/B testing. Engineer scalable, low latency microservices for hosting and serving machine learning models in real-time. Optimize data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and normalization to support batch and streaming processes.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required: Experience designing and developing REST API web services for hosting mL models. Experience designing, implementing, and validating large scale A/B tests for new features. Experience designing and developing statistical models for query correction, exploration - exploitation and regression analysis. Experience developing big data pipelines to gather, aggregate and interpret data from website. Experience establishing and managing databases for storing signal values computed from backend data pipelines. Experience designing and implementing automated systems for training, testing and deploying machine learning models. Experience developing machine learning models to enhance product ranking and recommendation systems. Experience maintaining, monitoring, and alerting pipelines for production systems. Experience utilizing SQL, Hive, and Spark for coding scripts to interact with databases and big data storage systems. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $138,911/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
