Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership & Vision:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive analytics roadmap aligned with country-level business objectives and overall company vision.
    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics framework for tracking business performance and identifying growth opportunities.
    • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Country Manager and other senior leaders, providing data-backed recommendations.
  2. Team Building & Mentorship:
    • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a world-class team of data analysts, data scientists, and potentially BI engineers.
    • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture within the analytics team.
    • Champion professional development and skill enhancement for team members.
  3. Business Intelligence & Reporting:
    • Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of robust BI dashboards, automated reports, and self-service analytics tools.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on key ecommerce metrics (e.g., Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), Conversion Rates, Average Order Value (AOV), Churn, inventory turnover, marketing ROI).
    • Provide actionable insights to various departments to optimize performance and decision-making.
  4. Advanced Analytics & Data Science:
    • Drive the application of advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics to solve complex business problems.
    • Identify opportunities for leveraging data science in areas such as customer segmentation, personalization, demand forecasting, fraud detection, pricing optimization, and supply chain efficiency.
    • Translate data science outputs into practical business applications.
  5. Data Governance & Quality:
    • Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.
    • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure robust data infrastructure and high-quality data capture.
  6. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
    • Partner closely with senior leadership and department heads (Marketing, Sales, Operations, Product, Finance) to understand their analytical needs, define priorities, and deliver impactful solutions.
    • Effectively communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Promote data literacy and a data-driven mindset throughout the [Country Name] organization.
  7. Technology & Innovation:
    • Stay abreast of the latest analytics tools, technologies, and best practices in the ecommerce industry.
    • Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, or methodologies to enhance our analytical capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related field). MBA is a plus.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data science
  • Proven track record of building and scaling analytics functions within a fast-paced, preferably ecommerce, digital-native, or retail environment.
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce business models, customer lifecycle, and key ecommerce metrics.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
  • Hands-on experience with BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik).
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data pipelines.
  • Demonstrable experience applying advanced statistical techniques and machine learning models to solve business problems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate data insights into strategic business actions.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
  • Fluent in [Local Language of Country] and English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data engineering principles and ETL processes.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization or a multi-national company.
