Help us create CloudWalk's first robotics R&D lab in São Paulo. You'll design, prototype, and build hardware and software solutions, mixing mechatronics, automation, 3D printing, and cutting-edge AI.
About the Role:
The Team – You'll join CloudWalk's newly formed Robotics Division, working alongside AI researchers and engineers, and software developers passionate about bringing autonomous systems to life. Direct mentorship from our Robotics Lead with exposure to cross-functional teams in AI, payments, and product design.Core Projects – Develop next-generation agentic vending machines with conversational AI interfaces, prototype embodied payment systems for different platforms, implement reinforcement learning algorithms for robotic manipulation tasks, and create seamless human-robot interaction experiences for commercial applications.Your Impact – From day one, you'll help bootstrap our robotics lab in São Paulo, influence hardware/software architecture decisions, rapidly prototype proof-of-concepts that could become commercial products, and contribute to research in embodied AI and autonomous commerce systems.,
What you'll do:
Bootstrapping the Lab – help choose tools, set up prototyping benches, organize electronics workstations, establish CAD-to-fabrication workflows, configure ROS 2 development environments, and more.Rapid Prototyping – create CAD designs on Fusion 360, operate 3D printers (FDM, SLA), CNC machines, and iterate rapidly.Electronics & Firmware – interpret schematics, solder prototype boards, program microcontrollers (C/C++, MicroPython) to run sensors, actuators, and robotic subsystems.ROS 2 Development – write ROS 2 nodes in Python for real-time robotic systems, telemetry, and hardware integration.AI-First Engineering – leverage state-of-the-art AI models, LLMs, and autonomous agents to streamline coding, prototyping, testing, and documentation.Research & Experimentation – explore machine vision, automation strategies, and emerging robotic technologies.,
What you'll need:
Hands-on experience with basic workshop tools, instrumentation, and 3D printersPython programmingAbility to read electronic schematics and build prototype circuitsInsatiable curiosity and passion for robotics and cutting-edge AIMust be able to work on-site at our São Paulo office,
Bonus points if you have:
Experience with ROS 2 or hobbyist robotics projectsHardware hacking and maker projects (professional or personal)Strong portfolio showcasing hands-on technical work (GitHub repos, blogs, YouTube videos, project documentation),
