THE ROLE: AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering lead who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.  THE PERSON: The ideal candidate should be passionate about AI and Neural Networks and its application in graphics technology, possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD. Applied Research and Engineering team is looking for the following KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Proficiency in machine learning in (neural networks) and Artificial Intelligence Ability to program in low level languages (x86 asm, SSE, ISA) General software development workflow knowledge: git, cmake, CI, etc Expert programming skills in Python, C and/or C++ Expertise in Machine Learning techniques and its application within graphics Proficient in English. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ or Python preferred Proficiency in 3D graphics and Ray tracing using GPU Compute and Graphics APIs like Direct3D, Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL, CUDA Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus Effective communication and problem-solving skills Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills  Experience in coding with AI tools and agents ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science especially Graphics and/or Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, or equivalent LOCATION: San Jose, California #LI-CS1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
