About the Role

As a Group Creative Director, you’ll move between big-picture thinking and in-the-weeds execution. That means directing the flow of work, guiding talented creatives, and stepping in when needed to drive things forward. It’s a role that demands agility, clarity, and the ability to zoom out for strategic oversight while staying sharp in the details. At Global Studio, the Group Creative Director is a “player-coach.” You’ll lead from within, steering the team toward standout work while staying hands-on with creative development and production. You’re part strategist, part maker, and all-in on building campaigns that work across digital, social, upper-funnel, and TV. We’re looking for someone who knows how to lead multi-disciplinary teams, has a proven track record with global campaigns, and creates work that feels native to the platforms it lives on. If your portfolio blends cinematic spots, smart digital work, and strong design, we want to see it.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Leadership:
    • Lead concepting and execution across everything from brand films to bite-sized social.
    • Ensure all creative output aligns with Amazon’s design system and narrative tone of voice ("Charm and Disarm").
    • Leverage proprietary AI tools to generate assets in diverse formats and sizes at scale.
    • Develop messaging, visual identities, and branding for internal and external programs.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop creative directors and teams, encouraging innovation and excellence.
  • Campaign Development:
    • Build brand campaigns from the ground up. Think globally, act locally, and make sure the work holds up at scale.
    • Deliver creative that’s tailored to its channel—TVCs that hit, social that feels native, and digital work that actually works.
  • Client Interaction and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with Global Studio’s local leadership, account leads, strategists, and producers to ensure seamless execution across all projects.
    • Participate in daily stand-ups with Global Studio teams to maintain alignment and momentum.
    • Act as a key ambassador for Global Studio in customer interactions, confidently presenting ideas and creative concepts with clarity and impact.
  • Strategy and Planning:
    • Partner with Strategy Directors to develop impactful creative strategies that align with both Global Studio’s vision and Amazon’s market needs.
    • Support the development of clear, actionable briefs in collaboration with Strategy, Account teams, and client PMs.
    • Ensure all creative output consistently reflects Amazon’s brand standards and strategic goals.
  • Innovation and Creativity:
    • Work on campaigns from idea to execution, using solid storytelling that works across regions—while still hitting the right local notes.
    • Push for smarter, faster workflows by making the most of GS AI Flow to cut out repetitive tasks.
  • Team Leadership and Growth:
    • Direct and mentor local teams that include a creative director, designer, strategist, copywriter, account lead, and producer.
    • Work across time zones and cultures with ease. You know how to take a core idea and make it resonate worldwide.
    • If needed, manage freelance talent day-to-day depending on project needs.
    • Foster a tight-knit, nimble team culture that values clarity, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Customer Relations and Business Growth:
    • Lead and collaborate with GS Executives, Accounts, CDs on pitches and organic new business development efforts. On critical, high-profile pitches, is expected to be hands-on and also deliver creative ideas.
    • Expected to be hands-on and contribute creatively as needed. Not afraid to roll up your sleeves when there are team gaps
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Bring high standards to everything. You’ve got an eye for design, a taste for strong storytelling, and zero tolerance for creative bloat.
    • Oversee all deliverables to ensure best-in-class creative execution.
    • Uphold Global Studio’s standards of excellence across all formats.

About You

The essentials:

  • 10–12 years in creative roles, including 5–7 years at CD level in international advertising and production.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual and executional work across B2C campaigns—including social and digital advertising, out-of-home, branded content, and video scripts for TVCs and online platforms.
  • Expertise in brand storytelling, visual design, digital innovation, and creative leadership.
  • Highly creative and imaginative, with strong storytelling abilities and a sharp eye for visual and design aesthetics.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect creative ideas with business objectives.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and guide teams. An inspiring and authentic leader who prioritizes team accomplishments and advocates for what the team needs to be successful in all forums, including client conversations, leadership meetings, governance meetings, QBRs, and annual planning meetings.
  • Capability to lead fast-paced pitches and drive complex projects to perfection, with an eye for both strategic and creative excellence.
  • Resilient and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident, thoughtful, and an active listener who is consistent, vocal, and articulate. A team player with a positive attitude when facing challenges. Communicates in an honest, candid, respectful, and direct way.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with fluency in cross-cultural and multilingual environments.
