About the Team
Fleet Management is the backbone of Nuro’s vehicle operations and sustainability effort. We are the Fleet Technicians and Support Specialists who test and maintain our fleet of robots to progress the evolution of our vehicle autonomy capabilities on public roads every day.
About the Role
As a Fleet Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the intervention and deployment of our robots, including startups, shutdowns, and public road support. You will participate in vehicle repairs and work with skilled technicians to build knowledge skills and abilities around our vehicles and software.
About the Work
- This is a "hands-on" job requiring onsite attendance
- Ability to operate trucks with trailers to load/unload company assets on public roads
- Support and sustain bot operations on public roads and private events
- Perform sustaining tasks including fueling, charging, cleaning, and supply runs
- Replace tires on robots and Fleet vehicles
- Uphold Nuro safety standards while operating company vehicles
- Implement daily vehicle checks and tasks to maintain efficient fulfillment of test requests and vehicle uptimes
- Document all vehicle tasks and issues in our Fleet Tracking system
- This position is subject to a 30-day training phase to determine skill proficiency and a 90-day probationary period.
About You
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use fine motor skills to accomplish duties involving handheld remote controls requiring finger dexterity
- Experience using detailed work instructions, diagrams, and engineering drawings to carry out maintenance tasks of low to medium complexity
- Some experience using commands and scripts to navigate computer systems from work instructions
- Experience using Google Suite
- Experience monitoring and documenting tests
- Effectively communicates and collaborates with Fleet Technicians, Fleet Management, and other cross functional teams
- Help maintain a clean and safe work environment and depot by participating in and maintaining our work areas
- Willingness for occasional travel to other locations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a variety of physical conditions
Bonus Points
- Experience with backing up and maneuvering a trailer with a truck
- Tow Truck or flatbed transport experience
- Mechanical experience on vehicles or related equipment
- Relatable Tech School/Associate Degree
- AV experience
- Any Remote Controlled Support equipment and/ or Drone experience
- Linux experience
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity
At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position the reasonably expected base hourly rate is $24 per hour. Any future increases in pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, education, location, and skills. You may also be entitled to a yearly bonus based on individual and company performance.
