System Debug and Test Engineer

AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: The Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing (DCGPU) organization is looking for an system level debug and validation engineer – previous experience as an intern doing similar work a plus. Individual will be part of a team that would be required to debug/validate complex system and SOC level issues as well run complex/stress related applications w/ irritators to recreate issues. Person should be able to drive to root closure any issues encountered and communicate with the different IP layers for resolution. THE PERSON: Person should have experience in GPU related execution as well as debugging of issues; understand the flow of a GPU through the different layers of an SOC and system. Communication Is essential in working with different owners of the code stack as well the ability to drive issues via phone calls, chat messages and meetings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Debug / system level triage engineer Understanding of GPU/System level HW and SW flow Ability to drive issues to root cause issues Run workloads, exercisers, tools to recreate issues / get to root of an issue Document flows and methods of debug ability Potential for scripting of debugging/application checking results PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: New NCG w/ expected previous work related experience in System or SOC level debug and triage Proven ability to work in a team executing applications, debugging issues Communication skills to be able to openly communicate steps tried, next steps Experience in SoC and/or System debug of complex issues Develop / Document debug capabilities on a given SOC and System GPU application knowledge and previous running/understanding Script programming (shell, python) Collaborate with internal teams on root causing issues, finding optimum resolutions Hands-on experience in using industry debug tools ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors or Master’s in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines with 5 years of experience in SoC validation and debug.
