JOB DETAILS: Location: Ottawa, ON, Canada Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time 37.5 hrs a week, either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term. Duration: May 2026 to August 2027 WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: We are seeking highly motivated AI Technical Marketing Engineering intern/co-op to join our team. In this role, you will – Support in building and modifying AI demo applications that showcase AMD’s unique capabilities in edge and embedded AI. Run performance benchmarks and present results to the field and customers Develop and run tests to measure system level KPIs, using performance tools, for different applications. Work with AMD’s Vitis™ AI toolchain to compile and deploy AI models on AMD evaluation boards and embedded systems. Run AI model inference using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ONNX, Resolve customer challenges involving AI model deployment on AMD platforms, including Vitis AI toolchain, ONNX conversion, FPGA (programmable logic), AI engines, and CPUs. Document best practices in AMD AECG documentation and GitHub Develop training and marketing material for AMD AECG Field people WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: You are currently enrolled in a Canada based University in a Bachelors or Master's degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline Hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ONNX. Familiarity with hardware-accelerated computation and heterogeneous computing architectures (FPGAs, NPUs, CPUs, and GPUs) is a plus Knowledge of model optimization, quantization, or pruning for deployment on embedded systems is highly desirable. Basic understanding of Vitis™ AI or any FPGA/AI toolchain is an advantage. Proficient with programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar Desire to be hands on with AMD AECG tools, devices, boards and software Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven ability in writing application notes, white papers & customer presentations Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative team across multiple geographies to creatively solve challenging problems Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
