JOB DETAILS: Location: Boxborough, MA Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), either in a onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term Duration: Summer: May 18, 2026 – August 07, 2026 WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: We are seeking a highly motivated AI-Augmented Design Methodology Engineering Intern/co-op to join our team and participate in research and development of next-generation product differentiation features with extraordinary ML/AI engineers. As part of AMD's AI-Augmented Design Methodology (ADM) central methodology team you will work across AMD's product portfolio to develop and enable methodology and tools to tackle key design cycle challenges for the company by leveraging AI technologies and industry best practices. Role may involve one or many of the below categories: AI/ML development via Python or other scripting languages. Agentic flow development, enablement, and deployment for use in HW design environments. Data collection, manipulation, and analysis: Developing and extending processes and tooling to promote data-driven design and decision-making. Collaboration on ADM core Python libraries. Tool development to drive enhanced efficiency for AMD AI frameworks. Automated regression environment development Using code review software to ensure high quality code is produced. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: You are currently enrolled in a US based University in a Master's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. 3rd, or 4th year student enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent will be considered as well. Experience with scripting languages (Python, shell scripting) HW/SW systems knowledge or interest Linux/Unix environment familiarity Version control experience (git/github, Perforce, etc) Strong problem-solving skills and methodical work practices Good understanding of computer and systems architecture Daily use of AI coding assistant tools Experience with LLMs, PyTorch, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), model context protocol (MCP), design of agentic applications C++ or Rust proficiency Computer Hardware backgrounds / knowledge preferred.
