Join the RBKS (Ring, Blink, Key, and Sidewalk) AI Innovation Lab, a program where you'll tackle real business challenges across Amazon's Ring, Blink, Key, and Sidewalk businesses through AI-powered solutions. Working alongside senior business leaders, you'll transform traditional internship experiences into collaborative innovation hubs where your solutions directly impact millions of smart home customers.

We seek individuals passionate about creating new products, features, and services, while managing ambiguity in an environment where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years. As a RBKS AI Innovation intern, you'll have direct engagement with business leaders through regular check-ins and mid-point progress reviews, leading up to Regional Innovation Showcases where you'll present your AI solutions directly to RBKS leadership—the capstone experience where your work gets executive attention.

Key job responsibilities
• Present your innovative AI solutions at Regional Innovation Showcases directly to RBKS executive leadership—the capstone experience where your work gets visibility at the highest levels.
• Tackle challenges with autonomy to develop innovative AI solutions for real-world smart home devices, including Ring, Blink, Key, and Sidewalk.
• Collaborate with business leaders through guided access to organizational meetings, cross-functional teams, and recurring business discussions.
• Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in a largely distributed computing environment.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services that delight our customers, while participating in technical discussions to drive solutions forward.
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable and cost-effective.
• Leverage and contribute to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity while staying current with emerging technologies.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Work in an agile environment practicing CI/CD principles while participating in operational responsibilities.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance.


A day in the life
As an intern, you'll work within your regional cohort on challenges with autonomy to develop innovative AI solutions. Your internship includes:
• Regular check-ins with business leaders and structured mid-point progress reviews.
• Permission to join recurring meetings across Ring, Blink, Key, and Sidewalk teams to observe, ask questions, and integrate into existing software engineering teams.
• AI workshops and dedicated support channels.
• Professional development resources and AWS Skills Center AI programming initiatives.
• Weekly minimum check-ins with your assigned mentor.
You'll present your AI solutions directly to RBKS leadership alongside your cohort peers during the final showcase event. In addition to working on an impactful project, you'll engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in activities with other interns throughout your internship. No matter the location of your internship, we give you the tools to own your project and learn in a real-world setting.
