The Market Insights Team helps shape strategic and operational decisions in the company by providing compelling insights into industry developments, market movements and competitive dynamics in the businesses that Grab operates - namely transport, food, payments, and platform services. Get to Know the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist specializing in Market Insights to join our team in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this role, you will lead our efforts to extract valuable insights from complex market data, driving strategic decision-making and business growth. You will report to the Manager. You will be based onsite.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze market trends and consumer behavior
• Design and conduct in-depth market research studies to identify new opportunities and potential risks
• Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into data-driven solutions
• Lead and mentor junior data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science techniques and tools, applying them to improve our market analysis capabilities
• Develop predictive models to forecast market trends and consumer preferences
• Optimize data collection processes and implement best practices for data management and analysis

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• A minimum of Bachelor Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data science or a related field, with a focus on market research and consumer behavior analysis
• Proven track record of developing and implementing predictive models and machine learning algorithms
• Expert knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining techniques
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark
• Strong skills in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• In-depth understanding of market research methodologies and consumer behavior analysis
