About the Role  

We’re looking for a NMLS/License Manager to work closely with our Compliance Team in the U.S. This is a brand new role reporting to our Head of Legal and Compliance.

We’re building a world-class, data-driven and tech-focused team as we grow, driving us toward our next fundraise and beyond.

You’ll take the lead in managing Cleo’s license applications, renewals, reporting and regulatory exam functions as we scale rapidly and expand geographically over the next 3-5 years.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build out and manage state license application, renewal and reporting process 
  • Manage licensing-related deadlines (through NMLS and other platforms)
  • Coordinate and gather documentation and other required items for applications, renewals and reporting 
  • Track and manage reporting and ensure timely submission to regulatory bodies
  • related to Lead external audit and partner testing initiatives; manage documentation, communication and updates to bank partners in this area; 
  • Lead license related and other regulatory examinations
  • Contribute to and lead automation and improvement projects within the Compliance function

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of work experience in state lending or other consumer-related licensing management 
  • You’re comfortable building and owning processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong familiarity with NMLS
  • You’re able and excited to conceive of and execute projects independently
  • You have the ability to quickly pick up new concepts, and dive into a problem with a solutions-oriented, outcome-focused mindset – even with no prior background in the subject matter
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities, and the ability to develop creative solutions for challenging, open-ended problems
