MTS SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
The role is in the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) architecture team in AMD (Bangalore site). The focus of this role is design, analysis, modeling and execution towards the improvement of power and performance in the existing and upcoming FPGA devices from AMD.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern VLSI architectures, high performance and lower power digital design and circuits, FPGA based designs/architectures in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience in collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Explore new circuits, methodologies and architectures for power and performance improvements in the FPGA
- Build designs, sensors, measurement schemes and tests for gathering power-performance data from existing FPGA devices
- Build high level models for existing or new circuit, architectural and power management features in the FPGA
- Collaborate with FPGA architects, hardware engineers, and system engineers to drive new architectural, performance and power management features
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of overall experience with 3+ years of FPGA design engineer experience
Strong knowledge of the Xilinx Vivado Toolset or equivalent
Strong knowledge of Xilinx FPGA architecture or equivalent
- Strong knowledge and skills in RTL design (Verilog, System Verilog preferably)
- Good understanding of Static Timing Analysis and related flows
Exposure to power-performance analysis and trade-offs in the context of FPGA design
Strong digital circuit and logic design fundamentals
Strong knowledge of SPICE Circuit Simulation tools
Utilize debugging tools and techniques to diagnose and resolve power-performance challenges within FPGA designs and hardware platforms.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to the problems identified
Team player with a proactive attitude, the ability to be productive in a dynamic / collaborative environment
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Masters or PhD degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
