Come join the GTS Innovation team - we work on a diverse set of consumer problems and build sustainable solutions to provide meaningful outcomes for GTS and for Grabbers. Our focus is on creating specialized AI-driven products and tools that address specific business needs across Corporate teams at Grab. We are looking for passionate developers who not only have the necessary skills but also offer more, to become part of our team. You will collaborate with the product, business, and program management teams to ensure delivery of your work.

Get to Know the Role

An AI Agent Developer/Engineer builds autonomous systems that perceive environments, make decisions, use tools, and execute multi-step workflows with minimal human intervention. They specialize in LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG to create intelligent agents that automate complex tasks, such as customer service, data analysis, or software development. You will lead the development of our corporate systems, driving technological advancements and setting the standard for engineering excellence. You will be reporting to Principal Enterprise Architect - Automation and Integration.

This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Develop Autonomous Agents: You will design and implement intelligent agents capable of planning, reasoning, and achieving specific goals independently.
• System Integration: You will connect AI agents to external APIs, databases, and software tools to perform real-world actions.
• Optimize Performance: You will fine-tune models, improve prompt engineering, and enhance RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures.
• Evaluation & Testing: You will build frameworks to evaluate agent performance, reliability, and safety.
• Maintain Guardrails: You will ensure safe operation and proper oversight in automated workflows.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in programming languages like Python, with experience in API design and working with Large Language Models (LLMs).
• AI/ML Knowledge: Understanding of machine learning principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Backend Proficiency: Experienced in databases, microservices, and system architecture.
• Deconstruct complex tasks into relevant steps for AI implementation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years in software engineering, with 5+ years focused on designing and building scalable systems.
• Experience leading engineering teams, with a track record in driving technical decisions and establishing engineering standards.
