The Materials and Planning Director will oversee the planning and coordination of materials required for production. Responsibilities include managing inventory levels, developing procurement plans, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The manager will work closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to optimize material flow and reduce costs while maintaining production schedules. A critical part of this role will also involve hiring and training a skilled team to manage materials and planning processes effectively.

Note: this role may involve substantial international travel.

What you'll do:

Oversee the planning and coordination of materials required for production.

Manage inventory levels, develop procurement plans, and ensure timely delivery of materials.

Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to optimize material flow and reduce costs.

Implement and maintain efficient materials management processes and systems.

Hire, train, and lead a skilled team to manage materials and planning effectively.

Assist in setting up manufacturing facilities internationally

Required qualifications:

Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in materials management and production planning.

Strong knowledge of inventory control, procurement processes, and logistics.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Proficiency in MRP software.
