The Product Data Science role requires an engineer at heart who is able to lead and guide Data Science/Machine Learning teams to deliver Feedzai financial crime fighting products. The role requires deep data science knowledge, allowing the teams to have strong support at a strategic level. With Feedzai IQ Feedzai is changing the game, leveraging novel modeling strategies hand in hand with explainability and strong governance practices.

Your Day to Day

Collaborate within a diverse team of data scientists and software engineers whose work has a direct impact on detecting financial crime activity.
Communicating your findings to Product Managers and other relevant stakeholders.
Provide technical feedback to the team regarding architecture, design, experimental setups, and code reviews.
Be responsible for the planning, execution, and success of Data Science initiatives, with support from the team.
Work with key stakeholders across all groups within the Engineering and Product Teams.
Process data using the Python scientific stack (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, ...) and SQL.
Work with very large data sets by leveraging distributed computing, e.g. with PySpark.
Work and contribute to state-of-the-art modeling strategies with bespoke architectures.
Directly contribute to observability and governance tooling and practices.

You Have & You Know-how

1+ years of experience with very large datasets.
2+ years of experience in applied ML.
2+ years of data science work, including experiment design.
Experience in communicating complex concepts to customers and/or key stakeholders.

Preferred/Valued Qualifications and Skills:

Experience in banking including Account Opening, or Credit Risk Scoring is highly valuable.
Demonstrated skills in adaptability, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Be solution-oriented, and when issues arise, be able to roll up your sleeves and tackle them with a ‘get it done’ attitude.
Team player with a clear focus on taking the performance of teams to the next level.
Solid background in data science practices and applied Machine Learning principles.
Practical experience with tree-based algorithms (Random Forest, XGBoost, LightGBM.)
Experience working in customer-facing Data Science initiatives.
Experience working in the fraud detection domain.
