Role Overview
Are you a data engineer with hands-on experience, a passion for innovation, and a strong sense of ownership? The Enterprise Data Enablement team offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of enterprise-scale data products.
As a Data Engineer I, you will support engineering initiatives focused on building efficient, cloud-native data pipelines and delivering high-quality data products used across Mastercard. You will collaborate closely with experienced data engineers, technical leads, and architects who provide guidance throughout the design and development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, and implement new data capabilities and infrastructure to enable access to Mastercard, third-party, and partner data for enterprise data products and solutions.
• Build and enhance data pipelines, data transfers, and compliance-related infrastructure to support secure and scalable data usage in the cloud.
• Develop data infrastructure and capabilities aligned with evolving product architectures, leveraging cloud-native design principles.
• Collaborate with data management, data governance, and technical teams to ensure long-term viability, integrity, and compliance of enterprise information assets.
• Identify gaps and opportunities within existing data platforms and initiatives, providing subject-matter expertise to support remediation and continuous improvement.
• Propose innovative solutions and make recommendations to address platform challenges and improve overall system effectiveness.

All About You
You bring a combination of technical expertise, curiosity, and strong collaboration skills. You demonstrate:
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, Databricks, AWS, Java, PySpark, Spark, and SQL.
• A strong interest in emerging trends across data engineering, AI/ML, analytics, and digital experiences.
• Experience with data anonymization practices and responsible data usage management.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong working relationships across geographically distributed teams.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry best practices for data collection, governance, and usage.
• A self-motivated, proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
