What a College Intern - Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence does at HP:
- This project aims to develop a system using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze printed images (documents, mixed graphics, photo, etc), focusing on object recognition and anomaly detection (print artifacts, design flaws) and potential root cause analysis to meet various customer segments.
- Develop cutting-edge models for object detection
- Implement robust anomaly detection for spotting print artifacts, misprints, distortions and design flaws, with potential root cause analysis.
- Create a user-friendly interface for image upload, analysis and dashboarding.
Key Deliverables and Success Criteria:
- Annotated dataset of print images.
- Trained machine learning models for object detection, anomaly detection and potential root cause analysis.
- Create working prototype or application for uploading, analyzing print images and results dashboarding.
- Documentation and performance evaluation report with the results and analysis of the model.
- Accurate object detection, anomaly identification and root cause analysis system from variety of printed images for various customer segments.
- An intuitive and easy to use system that performs efficiently for processing large volumes of images with comprehensive dashboarding.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Undergraduate in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related studies.
- Familarity with Machine Learning, Root Cause Analysis, Dashboarding.
- Able to commit for a full time internship from May - August 2026 or longer.
