Role summary:
Join Walmart as a Senior Data Scientist and apply your expertise in data science, machine learning, and advanced statistical methods to drive impactful business insights. You will identify and source relevant data, develop and validate analytical models, and support scalable deployment to enhance decision-making across functions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will translate complex business challenges into data-driven solutions while mentoring associates and promoting best practices in data quality, visualization, and coding. About the team:
The 10X team consists of experienced Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Full Stack technologists focused on delivering scalable, data-driven solutions for Walmart. This group integrates expertise in AI, software engineering, and data science to develop intelligent systems that drive business value. The team specializes in designing autonomous AI agents, deploying reliable applications, and building core engineering capabilities at enterprise scale. By leveraging data, AI, and agile methodologies, 10X fosters innovation that enhances operational efficiency and supports Walmart’s mission to serve associates and customers effectively.

What you'll do:

• Identify and source relevant data from diverse business domains and distributed databases to support analytical initiatives.

• Perform data quality assessments and ensure data integrity for accurate model development.

• Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using programming languages such as Python and SQL.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to enhance model performance and business insights.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and actionable recommendations.

• Create clear and effective data visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Mentor junior team members on modeling techniques and best practices.

 

 

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced statistical methods to develop and deploy analytical models.

• Proficiency in Python programming, including libraries such as NumPy, and expertise in SQL and data engineering practices.

• Strong skills in data visualization using tools like Power BI and Python visualization libraries to communicate insights effectively.

• Ability to perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and rigorous model assessment and validation.

• Deep understanding of business requirements, data quality standards, and data governance principles.

• Proven capability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and support scalable model deployment.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
