The Data Scientist III – Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for developing and deploying applied machine learning models that improve member engagement and enhance discovery experiences across Sam's Club's digital and physical touchpoints. You'll work alongside a talented team of Scientists and Engineers to design scalable ML solutions for Search, Ranking, and Personalization, using modern data pipelines and advanced modeling techniques.     •    You have 2+ years of experience in applied machine learning, data science, or AI systems development.
    •    Strong foundation in algorithms such as Collaborative Filtering, Matrix Factorization, or Deep Learning.
    •    Proficient in Python and familiar with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
    •    Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS) and basic MLOps concepts.
    •    Knowledge of information retrieval, ranking, or recommendation systems is a plus.

    •    Designing, training, and evaluating ML models that drive personalization and discovery.
    •    Working closely with Data Engineers to operationalize and scale models in production.
    •    Supporting A/B testing and experimentation to measure and optimize model impact.
    •    Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to define data and model requirements.
    •    Learning and applying emerging AI techniques to continuously improve member experiences. Preferred Qualifications
    •    Background in computer science, statistics, or applied mathematics.
    •    Familiarity with big data tools such as Spark or BigQuery.
    •    Exposure to Gen AI or Agentic AI concepts.
