Supervisor, Data Annotation

Manage a team of data annotation specialists who label data for neural network training. Oversee quality assurance efforts and projects to ensure timely delivery of annotated data.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Project Management
o Planning and coordinating data annotations projects, creating timelines and organizing meetings.
o Ensure that documentation and daily planning are accurate and up to date
o Prioritize job queues and allocate headcount between quality control and labeling
· Communication
o Facilitating communication between engineers and QA or customers and ensuring that specifications and deadlines are understood.
· Team Management
o Oversee a team of data annotation specialists, including employee development, performance reviews, and check-ins.
o Have leadership skills to drive efficiency for medium-sized teams of annotators
o Manage timekeeping and attendance
o Ensure that the team works together as a cohesive unit
· Research
o Monitor and resolve issues in various pipeline stages.
o Conduct research on prioritizing automation with the goal of reducing manual efforts and improving efficiency.
· Collaboration
o Coordinating with other teams within the company and more senior managers to get the resources the team needs
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
· 2+ years of experience in engineering, data annotation, or quality control management, prefer 4+ years experience.
· Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
· Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, data labeling practices, and annotation tools.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Skills:
· Master's degree or higher education in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
· Experience in computer vision, NLP, or other AI domains.
· Familiarity with data annotation platforms (e.g., CVAT, Labelbox, or similar).
· Knowledge of Python, SQL, or related technical skills is a plus.
