THE ROLE: We are hiring a highly technical and creative AI Developer to join our advanced AI team at AMD. These roles are critical to scaling our AI education initiatives and accelerating innovation in generative AI. By building a team of autonomous contributors who can produce high-quality content and prototypes independently, we aim to scale our AI education efforts and reach a global developer audience. Ideal candidates are familiar with implementing the latest AI research, and skilled at translating complex ideas into simple, engaging formats that resonate with a broad developer audience. THE PERSON: Ideal candidates are familiar with implementing the latest AI research, and skilled at translating complex ideas into simple, engaging formats that resonate with a broad developer audience. Work on cutting-edge AI technologies with a team of world-class researchers and engineers. Influence the future of generative AI and developer education. Be part of a collaborative, mission-driven culture that values clarity, innovation, and impact. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Research, prototype, and implement cutting-edge techniques in generative AI, e.g. speculative decoding, reasoning post-training, the latest RL methods, etc. Translate advanced AI concepts into clear, engaging educational content, including course modules, technical explainers, and keynote-style presentations. Collaborate with AI engineers, researchers, and educators to ensure technical accuracy and pedagogical clarity. Track record of designing visually compelling, shareable content with a strong sense of storytelling to maximize reach and impact. Stay current with the latest research in LLMs, decoding strategies, and model efficiency, and contributing to internal knowledge sharing. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred but not required) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Demonstrated experience with LLMs/transformer architectures. Proven ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts through engaging content or presentations. Experience creating content (e.g. course materials, technical tutorials, or keynote talks) that prioritize clarity and simplicity. Strong visual and UX sensibility, with an eye for content that is both informative and shareable. Experience working in cross-functional teams, especially in fast-paced environments. Contributions to open-source projects, research publications, or internal technical blogs. Portfolio of engaging content (any format) to point to. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred; PhD is a strong plus, especially with publications in distributed systems, AI infrastructure, or GPU computing.
