The Devices team is seeking a talented, self-directed Software Developer Engineer to join a team owning a wide array of highly impactful speech and language applications in every language, providing thousands of customers the ability to interact with Alexa in the most natural way possible by building and enhancing NLU models.



Key job responsibilities
- Responsible for on-call duties during peak and non-peak hours, deploying fixes, and handling high-sev issues with Language Engineers and Scientists
- Will work with other team members (Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Language Engineers, SDEs, BIEs, Product and Program Managers) to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility
- Will improve reliability of tools and fill in tooling gaps opportunistically
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against tight schedules.

About the team
The team is based in Turin (IT), peer teams are in Bangalore (IN) and Boston (US).

Turin (inner metropolitan area population 1.7M) has world-class automotive, automation, aerospace, and banking companies. Housing cost is low while there are recreational opportunities that vary from the opera to the Italian Riviera at one-hour drive, the wine area of Barolo and mountain sport in the Olympic Mountains.
