SMTS PERFORMANCE MODELING ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will help lead a team of talented industry specialists and will work in driving advanced exploration for next generation GPU architectures and micro-architectures for the next generation workloads.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about system architecture, performance modeling, AI models and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with a set of partners across AMD
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as part of AMD's Data Center GPU Performance Team to develop future AMD products.
- Develop and maintain new simulations for both workloads and hardware.
- Keep abreast of new workloads, particularly for AI mdoels.
- Collaborate closely with hardware architects, system engineers and business teams in evaluating and understanding performance characteristics.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong understanding of system architecture and hardware design
- Experience with modeling of systems
- Understanding of AI workloads at a detailed level
- GPU software development and parallel programming
- Analytical and performance analysis skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Software development in C++ and Python
- Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills including leading and mentoring other engineers.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related
