SMTS Firmware Engineer

AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: We are looking for an SMTS (Senior Member of Technical Staff) Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, the SMTS Engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in leading the designs and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.  THE PERSON: You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead Engineer responsible for designing, developing, debugging, verifying and/or validating firmware, software and/or hardware Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements Responsible for exploring opportunieis in routines to improve debug and problem solving Work closely with other team members to understand design architecture and propose solutions for continuous improving in daily PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Multiple prior years of related firmware and software experience combined with technical education within the semiconductor industry Proven record of task accomplishment and problem solving skills across groups Experience in debugging, analyzing, and system benchmarks in logiical approaches Solid programming skills in Python, C/C++, or CUDA C++ Familiar with ML framework operations, porting and modifying Exposure to server and DGPU system architecture (SBIOS, BMC, PCIe related skills) Constant exposure to Linux based OS and Linux driver Familar with coding, profiling, performance projection Effective communication skills with worldwide function teams, customers, suppliers and counterparts ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent #LI-SC1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
