Site Reliability Engineer - Global Compute

Location Details: Romania, Remote

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

GoDaddy's Global Compute team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on helping us build and support next-generation cloud infrastructure.

In this role, you'll help build and maintain GoDaddy globally distributed, large-scale private cloud infrastructure, providing virtual machines, software-defined storage, and networking that powers websites and applications worldwide. If you believe in end-to-end automation using GitOps, and have interest in infrastructure fundamentals such as computer networks and virtualization, we’d like to speak with you.

This team empowers engineers to help small business customers start, grow, and run their ventures. Hundreds of GoDaddy teams and millions of customers use the team's Cloud platforms to run GoDaddy products. What you'll get to do...

• Collaborate with talented engineering teams to build, run, and support cost-effective, robust private cloud infrastructures
• Participate in SRE/DevOps, releases, and on-call activities to support the infrastructure and customers and provide fabulous experiences
• Develop and maintain infrastructure deployment automation for large scale infrastructure using Puppet and Ansible
• Develop and maintain infrastructure tooling using Python
• Contribute to open-source projects such as Puppet, Ansible, OpenStack, Qemu, or libvirt, as needed
• Fix code- or infrastructure level problems

Your experience should include...

• Proficiency in Linux
• Experience with deployment automation tooling such as Ansible or Puppet
• Development experience in any programming language. We typically use Python
• Curiosity about sophisticated distributed networking, system performance tuning, monitoring, software, system and network security
• Analytical and multi-task abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment

You might also have...

• Experience in contributing to open-source projects
• Expertise in virtualization technologies such as OpenStack, KVM, and Open vSwitch
• Experience with Cloud platform technologies such as AWS or Azure
• Working within an Agile development environment
• Experience with zero-day security incidents and disaster recovery
