Our Perception team builds the system that "sees" the world around the self-driving car. We conduct research to address real-world problems and collaborate with research teams at Alphabet. We have access to millions of miles of driving data from a diverse set of sensors, enabling researchers like you to develop complex models and techniques at scale.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Technical Lead Manager.

You will:

Apply machine learning techniques to build multi-modal sensor fusion architectures including object detection and tracking, semantic segmentation, road understanding, and future prediction
Create foundation scale data sets and training recipes, build generalizing model and robustify against adversarial conditions (like sensor degradation)
Develop data mining, labeling, training and evaluation pipelines and develop automated data collection/model update flywheels

You have:

Masters in Computer Science or a similar discipline, or an equivalent amount of deep learning experience
5+ years experience in Computer Vision and/or Machine Learning
Experience with Python

We prefer:

PhD Degree in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science or a similar discipline
Publications at top-tier conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, ICRA, RSS, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCV, PAMI
Experience with C++

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Salary Range

$204,000—$259,000 USD
