Hundreds of millions of customers. Billions of products for sale. Billions of queries and billions of dollars in revenue. The scale and impact of Amazon Search is huge. The Amazon Search team creates powerful, customer-focused search solutions and technologies.
The Search Customer Experience team is responsible for the customer-facing features, information, and look & feel of search results on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices globally. Our Team lives within the Search Organization where we launch new products and innovation on a daily basis. Our team leverages sophisticated machine learning, data mining, and big data technologies to help customers discover the right products. We run usability studies and obsessively read customer feedback to improve our search experience. Within Amazon broadly we partner with category teams such as Apparel, Consumer Electronics, Books, and Grocery as well as key business partners such as Advertising, Alexa, and Video Shopping. Within Search we partner with the teams that power search relevance, query understanding, browse, and product recommendations.
You will work backwards from the customer to design an experience that uses customer engagement and query understanding data to define and address customer frustrations. You'll develop best practices for insights and KPIs to prove success. You will guide a team of product managers, software engineers, and scientists to deliver results. You will weigh technology alternatives and be comfortable with products using machine learning and AI generative content. You will have strong judgment and understand which opportunities drive the most strategic value for the business.
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager-Technical to develop a new search customer experience that will help customers get inspired shopping time-sensitive events and exploring the latest trends on Amazon. You will define the CX vision, develop an actionable product roadmap, and coordinate with tech, science, infrastructure, UX teams.
Candidates should have experience working in a fast paced environment, have strong bias for action, and be comfortable driving clarity from ambiguity. You will work with global teams - both internal Search customers, and external tech partners, to identify and prioritize needs, able to effectively influence up and across the organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality search experiences customers love.
A day in the life
Successful candidates will enjoy diving deep into data, have well developed analytical skills, excellent communication strategies, and have experience with executive level reviews. You will thrive in a collaborative, creative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and are comfortable interacting with technical software development teams. You should have the experience and capability to prepare documentation for senior executives. Experience managing customer facing technical products and guiding cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management are preferred. This is a highly visible position that will interact with many teams in Search and Retail.
