Translation Services seeks a passionate Machine Learning Engineer (MLE) to drive innovations in image translation technology to reach every Amazon customer in their own language.Are you excited about pushing the boundaries of computer vision and language translation at massive scale? If so, we're seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Translation Services (TS) India Science team.TS provides technology solutions and services that deliver quality translations at the lowest possible cost for Amazon businesses. As our MLE, you'll be at the forefront of developing and deploying state-of-the-art image translation systems that detect, extract, and translate text within images, making visual content accessible across languages for millions of Amazon customers worldwide.

Key job responsibilities
Build top notch ML infrastructure:
Develop and maintain critical infrastructure needed for developing, training, evaluating, and deploying Visual Language Models (VLM) and LLMs for real-world image translation applications at Amazon scale.
Drive innovation in VLM space:
Quickly learn and apply new technologies and algorithms in Generative AI, Computer Vision, and NLP to build best-in-class visual language translation models.
Scale ML systems: Work closely with Applied Scientists to process massive image datasets, scale machine learning models, and optimize training pipelines for large-scale model training and inference.
Lead technical design: Investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility of innovative solutions in the image translation domain.
Optimize for production: Develop training algorithms and modeling techniques that push the boundaries of large model training while ensuring high performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
End-to-end ownership: Take full ownership of ML systems from design and development through deployment and monitoring in production environments.
