What You'll Do

Provide technical guidance on design best practices for rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing

Provide technical training, safety training, and operational best practices for related institute spaces and equipment

Participate in collaborative design reviews of robotic prototypes across teams

Organize and manage lab spaces and prototyping equipment

Maintain and repair institute prototyping equipment and materials inventory management

Part fabrication and post-processing

Daily hands-on prototyping, testing and debugging

What You'll Need

5+ years of relevant professional experience

A mastery of operating and maintaining rapid prototyping equipment (SLS printers, SLA printers, FDM printers, Laser cutters, epoxy casting)

Strong debugging and analysis skills

Strong customer service skills

Mastery of 3D CAD systems (OnShape, Solidworks, or similar)

Familiarity with advanced 3D modeling tools and techniques

Bonus

BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Skilled with related mechanical prototyping tools and processes (mills, lathes, etc)

Experience with complex early-stage products and equipment, including robots

Experience with data acquisition modules and systems

Hands-on experience operating lab instrumentation (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, power supply, programmable load)

Python scripting experience
