We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead the development and delivery of core capabilities in Foundational Models that power thousands of internal and external Generative AI Applications. As a Technical Program Manager in AGI, you'll drive end-to-end program execution for critical Foundational Model initiatives, including resource planning, risk management, and dependency coordination. You'll develop and maintain program roadmaps, working closely with product, engineering, and science teams to ensure alignment with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include leading cross-functional teams, managing complex dependencies across multiple organizational boundaries, creating and tracking program KPIs, facilitating technical decision-making processes, and providing regular status updates to senior leadership.
Key job responsibilities
A typical day in this role involves leading daily stand-ups and program status meetings, tracking and managing technical dependencies across multiple workstreams, coordinating with architecture, engineering, and science teams on technical implementation, identifying and mitigating program risks and blockers, and driving operational excellence through metrics and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with product managers on requirement refinement and technical feasibility, while also maintaining comprehensive program documentation, including technical specifications, deployment plans, and operational readiness reviews.
This position requires deep technical understanding of AI/ML systems, strong program management skills, and the ability to influence without authority. You'll work with a diverse set of stakeholders, including engineering teams, architects, scientists, and product managers, to ensure successful delivery of foundational model capabilities that meet both technical and business objectives. Experience working with large-scale distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, and MLOps is essential, as you'll be coordinating the deployment and operation of complex AI infrastructure and services. A day in the life
Given the scope and high level of ownership that product managers have in AGI, rarely are two days the same. You are a business owner, customer-facing representative for the service, and point of contact for partner teams. On a weekly basis, you will be working with customers to learn about the problems they are trying to solve, analyzing service and business metrics, writing PRFAQs, BRDs, and naming documents, iterating on product decisions with the Science and Engineering team, working with partners in solution architecture, legal, documentation, etc., thinking big to envision what is next, and exhibiting learn and be curious for different technologies, growth strategies, and market trends.
On a daily basis, you'll have a chance to work with everyone who makes products at AGI successful, including senior leadership, engineers, business and sales experts, marketing, advocates, data scientists, content writers, and more. You will meet with customers to understand our core strengths and weaknesses. You will synthesize that feedback and other industry knowledge, with business and service data, to create strategies and test hypotheses. As someone central to the success of AGI, people will look to you on a regular basis to solve problems and connect them with specialists. To develop that expertise, you'll constantly be looking to learn by reaching out to other experts within the company and in the larger tech community, using your own product by developing samples, demos, side-projects, and through mentorship, both as a mentor and mentee. Our customers are developers and technical decision makers, so you will be using code, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams to understand problems and communicate solutions.
