Postdoctoral Scientist, Agentic AI

Amazon is looking for talented Postdoctoral Scientists to join our team for a one-year, full-time research position. Postdoctoral Scientists will innovate in key areas of machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, automated reasoning, robotics, or quantum technologies.

Amazon’s Q Developer Science team is pioneering the development of advanced large language models based agents specifically optimized for software engineering tasks. We build and deploy AI agents that seamlessly integrate into developers' workflows across multiple interfaces—from command-line tools to popular IDEs like Visual Studio Code and Amazon internal development workflows. Our research focuses on creating more reliable, efficient, and collaborative code generation systems that can understand developer intent, produce secure and correct implementations, and work effectively across complex software projects. By combining cutting-edge AI research with practical software engineering applications, we're transforming how developers interact with their tools, accelerating development velocity, and improving code quality.
