Never Fall Engineering Lead

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. 

We are looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to lead making our humanoid robot never fall.

Responsibilities: 

• Track, triage, and root-cause (with cross-team help as needed) every robot fall
• Drive fixes to falls across mechanical, software, controls, electrical, and firmware teams
• Lead directional changes in fault response and diagnostics architecture to rapidly analyze and resolve falls
• Determine and enforce development and design practices to eliminate falls

Requirements: 

• Prior ownership of major functionality for a complex mechatronic system
• Depth in one or more of the following areas: electrical, firmware, mechanical, or controls
• Software development experience in C++ and Python
• Several years experience performing root-cause analysis on a similar type of platform

Bonus Qualifications: 

• Prior experience working robotic systems
• Prior experience working with humanoids
• Prior leadership experience
