PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Data Science in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Responsible for administering the post transaction risk for Venmo payments. Work with large data sets to drive insights based on loss and fraud trends. Work with various product teams to build product capabilities to reduce losses and enhance the customer experience for post transaction issues. Handle new partnerships end to end from defining requirements, working with product teams to build features, integrating data models input to manage post transaction risk, building dashboard for monitoring, and reporting for wider stakeholders. Conduct large data mining and modeling to drive insights on data that help mitigate risk. Combine data modeling and insights to build model and strategy that help improve customer experience. Extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets using data-oriented programming languages such as SQL. Build reports, visualize and summarize data finding and draw interpretations for optimization of business processes using visualization software. Develop techniques and data analysis to transform raw transaction data into actionable insights. Plan, direct, or coordinate activities for data analysis, building reports and interpretations. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Experience in using data findings and interpretations to optimize business processes (2 years).

2. Experience in extracting insights and making informed decisions using data science knowledge (2 years).

3. Experience in developing techniques using data analysis to combine business needs with data into actionable insights (2 years).

4. Experience in creating and implementing the long-term goals and business strategies for teams and organizations (2 years).

5. Experience in summarizing and visualizing data, and building reports using visualization software such as Tableau (2 years).

6. Experience in extracting and analyzing information from large structured and unstructured datasets using data-oriented programming languages such as SQL (2 years).

7. Experience in data modeling and insights to build models and strategy that help improve customer experience (2 years).

8. Experience in data analytical tools to store, analyze, and manage data (1 year).

9. Experience in machine learning techniques to build machine learning models (1 year).

10. Experience in conducting large data mining and modeling to drive insights on data that help mitigate risk (1 year).

Salary: $148,699.00-204,600.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
