About The Role
HP IQ's System Software team is responsible for firmware, operating system software, hardware-accelerated algorithms, power management, and core developer frameworks supporting our products. We serve as the glue between our hardware teams and our higher-level software teams, and delight in finding creative solutions to complex, interdisciplinary problems as we bring our product visions to life.
As a Lead System Software Engineer on this team, you will design, develop and implement drivers, services and frameworks/HAL to enable on-device experiences to take full advantage of our hardware capabilities. You will collaborate closely with our hardware and product teams to enable delightful user experiences. If you enjoy solving complex problems with a world-class team, we’d love to hear from you.
What You Might Do
- Implement/optimize embedded services for Android and Windows platforms
- Apply best practices for firmware development, test, and deployment
- Debug, triage, and fix system level issues
- Develop automated validation and manufacturing tests
Essential Qualifications
- 10+ years experience developing system software on Android/Windows devices
- Strong software engineering skills, including design, programming (C, C++, or Java) and debugging
- Ability to collaborate in a psychologically safe and healthy team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with embedded security solutions
- Experience working with wireless technologies (WiFi, Bluetooth)
- Experience with the debug of SW and HW, identifying root-causes and recommending fixes
- Awareness of power/performance tradeoffs in SW design
Salary range: $180,000 - $270,000
Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)
The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary offered is based upon multiple factors including individual job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and skills.
