Get to Know the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer with our team, you'll be focused on Issues and Incident Management - AI SRE. You will shape the backbone of Grab’s  incident management. You will create, implement, and scale innovative solutions leveraging advanced AI and machine learning technologies to enhance driver partner experiences and optimize marketplace efficiency. You will report to the Engineering Manager and work onsite at Grab Office.

This role will be onsite at Grab office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Independently Lead and Execute Demonstrate strength as a technical lead by taking full responsibility for projects conception, planning and execution.
• Develop AI SRE agents and chatbots using LLMs, LangChain, and LangGraph to enhance driver experiences and solve real-world challenges.
• Build scalable full-stack solutions, including cloud-based backends and efficient web interfaces.
• Write high-quality code in modern languages (e.g., Python, Go) and frameworks, ensuring scalability and efficiency. Conduct code/design reviews.
• Deploy machine learning pipelines and integrate AI agents with tech infra systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement features and assess business impact. Ensure smooth mobile integration.
• Mentor and Inspire Provide deep technical mentorship, foster platform-thinking, and cultivate a culture of excellence across engineering and research teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to post-mortems.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Strong foundation in computer science: data structures, algorithms, multi-threading, distributed systems, relational/non-relational databases.
• Expertise in LLMs, LangChain, LangGraph for conversational AI development.
• Proficient in backend languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java) with focus on Go and Python.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Next.js), SSR concepts (SSR/SSG), and protocols (WebSocket, Streamable HTTP, gRPC).
• 5+ years of cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure) and scalable backend deployment.
• Advocate for shift-left testing with unit, integration, and automated testing.
• Experienced in stakeholder collaboration across teams/regions.
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills for scalability and stability.
• Proficient in creating concise technical documentation for cross-team collaboration.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent system design capabilities with high standards for code quality and scalability.
