AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: The Hardware Validation Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and efficiency of hardware toolsets used in lab and test operations. This position requires technical expertise in validation methodologies, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration to support ongoing research and development. The engineer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, and lifecycle management of test tools and small hardware fixtures, ensuring seamless integration into lab workflows. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Hardware Validation & Testing: Lead validation efforts for small tools and fixtures utilized in lab/test environments to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and external vendors to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and long-term tool lifecycle planning. Tool Development & Optimization: Research, scope, and implement next-generation hardware tools and revisions to enhance lab processes and testing methodologies. Inventory & Silicon Management: Oversee inventory tracking and silicon coordination related to test tooling, ensuring availability and proper utilization. Team Leadership & Coordination: Manage a team of 8–10 personnel, including contractors and integration specialists, to optimize workflow and achieve operational goals. New Product Integration: Support the setup, marking, and inspection readiness for new products entering the validation pipeline. Process Improvement & Documentation: Identify efficiency opportunities and develop detailed documentation to standardize hardware validation processes. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Prior experience in hardware validation, lab operations, or tooling development preferred. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of validation methodologies, failure analysis, and small tool design principles. Project Management Skills: Proven ability to coordinate multiple initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and drive tool lifecycle planning. Leadership Ability: Experience managing cross-functional teams and guiding contractors or specialists in an operational setting. Problem-Solving & Innovation: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware issues, identify opportunities for process improvement, and implement effective solutions.
