General Accountant (Paris)

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant to establish and maintain our accounting systems, manage treasury, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. This role is critical in shaping our financial processes and driving our company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

As our first internal General Accountant, you'll report directly to our Head of Finance. You will collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and operations, to support business decisions.

Your scope will be global (we currently have offices in France, the UK, and the US) and will be divided as follows:

1/ Accounts Payable and Receivable

- Manage the accounts payable process

- Oversee accounts receivable, including invoicing customers and collecting payments

- Ensure payroll compliance with tax and labor laws

2/ Treasury Management

- Manage cash flow and liquidity

- Oversee banking relationships and investment activities

- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting

- Conduct internal audits and reviews to identify and address potential risks

3/ Compliance and Regulatory Reporting

- Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax for entities in France, the UK, and the US

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements

- Prepare and submitting regulatory filings as needed

This position will most likely lead to a management / leadership position.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (French DCG or DSCG), Finance, or a related field

- A total 8-10 years of experience in accounting roles

- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a startup or tech environment

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations

- Proficiency in accounting software, including SAP

- Experience with international accounting standards (IFRS)

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Bilingualism (French and English)
