Perplexity is looking for a frontend engineer to join our small team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be responsible for building UI for the future of how people ask questions and find information on the web.

For our frontend work, we use React, TypeScript, NextJS, React-Query, Turborepo, and TailwindCSS. The ideal candidate should understand state management patterns, React rendering process, and how to make the most of TypeScript.

Responsibilities:

Work on core Perplexity UI/UX features
Contribute to our component library
Investigate and fix performance bottlenecks
Improve frontend infrastructure
Follow and enforce best practices
Work with backend engineers to define API specifications

Key Qualifications:

Have at least 4+ years of experience with React and TypeScript
Have worked with NodeJS and ideally NextJS
Have proactive communication skills and are ready to work in a fast-paced environment
Are interested in the future of UI/UX and convinced that LLMs will play a crucial role in it
Determined to build great experiences by getting the details right
Up-to-date with the latest tech in frontend, but practical about using it

The cash compensation range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity is part of the total compensation package.
