AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: The Software Security Team is responsible for development and enablement of Platform and Content security features across the software stack including device drivers, firmware, and application level interfaces. The group is responsible for supporting the entire range of AMD products including APUs, CPUs, GPUs and Custom SOC, enabling customers to build competitive solutions. THE PERSON: As a Firmware Software Development Engineer (Temporary 1 Year Contract), and a member of the Software Security Engineering group you will participate in all aspects of development life cycle. Driving enablement of security centric features across wide range of AMD SOCs, focusing on development of embedded firmware, boot loaders, and content security. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills are critical in this role. Ability to work independently under tight deadlines, responding to changing business and technical conditions with minimal direction. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, implement and validate embedded firmware enabling a wide range of security features Develop new software features and enhancements within pre & post silicon environments Engage as an active team player, leverage AGILE methodologies to drive cross team development, provide leadership to junior developers and always ready to take on new challenges Participate in design reviews, quality improvements and architectural discussions PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with low level development in C / C++ Experience with embedded firmware development on ARM, RISC-V or x86 microprocessors Familiarity with pre-silicon validation on FPGAs or simulation environments along with ASIC bring-up Knowledge of Cryptography, DRM & Platform Security concepts University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline Beneficial Skills: Familiarity with pre-silicon validation and ASIC bring-up Well versed in software engineering practices to drive timely execution and long term sustainabilitY ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent #LI-BM1 #LI-Hybrid Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
