Workday’s global opportunity is huge. Our Globalization Content team within our Growth organization is focused on building, maintaining and operating fully localized configuration, integrations, reports and Extend applications that meet our customer’s needs in global markets. By delivering a comprehensive catalog of content we enable the opportunity for Workday to serve our more customers effectively, winning more deals, reducing deployment cost and total cost of ownership. We deliver a clear return on investment for the business and help drive our global growth.About the Role
Are you a critical thinker who enjoys taking on the challenges presented by delivering enterprise applications at scale?
As a Data Scientist for the Globalization team, you will have the opportunity to deliver insights to a wide range of internal teams at Workday. You will use your expertise in data understanding, problem statement generation, and analytics to develop prototypes, insights, and presentations that help craft the path forward for product development.
You’ll draw on your depth of experience to guide and mentor the teams regarding our data strategy, as well as guiding the strategic direction in the solutions we design and build.
Primary responsibilities of this role:
Put our customers first by working closely with Product Management to ensure we deliver solutions that contribute to our customers.
Perform in-depth analytical analysis using your vast practical knowledge of statistics and machine learning that deliver insight the business can take action on.
Iterate on analysis with other data scientists, product managers, and engineers to ensure the output is a result of partnership.
Move data from disparate systems to provide the team with MVP prototypes.
Present results to a wide variety of collaborators and advisors.

Coach and mentor less experienced engineers.

About You
About You
Bachelors or higher degree in a computer related field or equivalent
5+ years of software development experience and 3+ years as a Data Scientist or similar role.
Experience in programming languages like Python or Scala (including libraries like pandas).
Experience working with data warehouses and querying data using SQL.
Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks for data exploration and analysis.
Familiarity with modern developer tools & practices.
Excellent ability to communicate complex problems and solutions to a diverse group of team members, both technical and non-technical.
Additional Qualifications
A solid understanding of distributed system design and operation.
Proficient at collaborating with teammates to design, maintain and improve sophisticated object-oriented and/or functional software
Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
Appreciation for the value of diverse ideas in coming up with innovative solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
