Data Science Manager, Core Business - USDS

About the team
The Core Business Data Science team at TikTok USDS is responsible for building high-quality and timely data analytics solutions for the TikTok main app. The mission of our team is to achieve the following three major business objectives:
- Grow TikTok US users through analytics of user growth levers
- Identify growth opportunities for TikTok business initiatives in the US market
- Protect our users by enforcing user safety principles through data

Responsibilities
Data is at the core of decision making within TikTok. As a data science manager on the team, you will have the exciting opportunity to:
- Lead a team of Data Scientists or Data Analysts to execute company level objectives
- Conduct product analytics to provide recommendations that drive product growth and nurture a healthy ecosystem
- Understand root causes of metric movements
- Design and build advanced analytical solutions and models to deliver business outcomes

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of full time experience working in an analytical role in a top tier social media or entertainment companies, including 2+ years as a people manager
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or other science and engineering fields
- Experience with SQL, Python, or R
- Experience navigating and working with large data sets using SQL
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, learn autonomously, and highly organized
- Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of technical concepts such as Machine Learning, Causal Inference, and AI
- Experience in Livestream products
- Experience working with international partners in different time zones
- Passion for social technology products and a curiosity to learn & grow with a fast paced company
