The Work Itself:
- Participate in the entire lifecycle, from design through the development and test processes to production support.
- Tasked with building and maintaining highly scalable data processing pipelines using BigData technologies and SOA architecture.
- Implement continuous integration, testing, deployment practices and automation frameworks to increase productivity.
- Work with architectural and security teams to design, build, and maintain services that are compliant and meet Visa security standards.
- Participate in cross-group and internal customer feature demos.
Essential Functions:
- Interprets technical requirements provided by senior engineers.
- Executes component designs provided by senior engineers and works with others to document module design.
- Creates and implements code across assigned components; learns to apply coding patterns, guidelines, styles, and best practices; and adheres to all security requirements.
- Follows detailed instructions to apply basic modification techniques and operations to transform raw data into a form that is compatible with downstream data sources, databases, and servers.
- Learns about data management principles, governance, process, and tools to maintain data quality in assigned workstream.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 6 months of relevant work experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of work experience
- Hands-on experience with all aspects of software development: data, server-side, and open-source software.
- Willingness to adapt quickly and learn newer technologies
- Software development knowledge using Java or Python
- Basic knowledge and training in Bigdata technologies like Hive and Spark
- Ability to understand and write complex SQL queries for development & data analysis
- Basic experience on Unix and shell scripting
- Knowledge on standard Ci/CD processes, specifically Jenkins CI/CD
- Knowledge in AI/ML, especially solution building using ChatGPT and GenAI, Github Copilot
- Databricks, Kafka, Presto, Solr, Nifi, Airflow, Sqoop
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 95,200.00 to 134,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
